A Seven Day Cycling Experience;
Quebec’s Eastern Townships provides the perfect background for a magical cycling experience. As you cycle through this region, take the time to explore along the way and appreciate the unique and subtle mix of Anglo Saxon and Quebecois charm.
This self-guided tour, follows the Eastern Townships bike trails from one charming Bed and Breakfast to another. Your cycling experience will not only include magnificent scenery but also points of interest from artisan studios to antique car museums and more!
Day 1
Start your tour in Bromont. Located along the “Route Verte” (Green Route Bike path), Bromont offers the charm of yesteryear with a range of modern sport and recreation facilities. These include a Chocolate Factory, Health Spa, golf and a Ski Centre that is a water slide and wonderland in the summer.
Upon your arrival you will enjoy a welcome reception where your tour hosts will review your trip and answer any questions you may have.
End the day with a walk along the main street and a gourmet meal in one of the many restaurants.
Day 2 (30KM)
Wake up to a fabulous breakfast and then prepare for your first day of riding.
You will travel through Granby, famed for its fountains and 40 well maintained parks. Stop to visit the Lac Boivin Interpretation Centre and the Palace Theatre which features French language Authors, Composers and Directors.
Then continue on your way through the Haute Yamaska Regional Park. Don’t forget your bathing suit!
This cycling day concludes in Waterloo. This dynamic and picturesque Village boasts century old buildings and homes that commemorate the regions rich cultural heritage.
Day 3 (50KM)
After breakfast, continue your cycling adventure along the “Montagnarde” to Magog.
Located at the northern end of Lake Memphremagog, this hamlet reflects its French and New England heritage in its architecture, arts and fine cuisine.
End the day with a walk along the boardwalk and a gourmet meal in a restaurant over looking Lake Memphremagog.
Day 4 (30 KM)
Wake up to a fabulous country breakfast followed by a tour of the local bakery to stock up on delicacies for your picnic lunch.
This day of riding takes you through the Orford Provincial Park. Along the way, stop and take a hike on the many trails that criss-cross the Park. Enjoy your picnic lunch before continuing on your way to your B&B.
Day 5 (44KM)
After breakfast, be prepared for a cycling adventure along the “Sentier de L’Ardoise”.
This ride will bring you to Richmond. The many interesting sites to see in this community include the Antique Car Museum, the Slate Interpretation Centre and the Richmond Arts Centre. The historic centre of this small town contains no less than 36 heritage buildings.
Day 6 (58KM)
After a well deserved rest, you are ready for the days ride along the St. Francois River to Sherbrooke Quebec and then on to North Hatley for lunch.
North Hatley sits on the northern tip of Lake Massawippi and is a treasure trove of quaint shops, art galleries and restaurants. Throughout the summer, visitors and locals enjoy open air concerts every Sunday.
After lunch, hop back on the bike trails and head in the direction of Magog. Back at the beautiful B&B “Au Tout Venant” your tour hosts await you to hear all about your adventures and direct you to your dining options for this final evening.
Day 7
After a delicious breakfast, we wish you a “Bon Voyage” for your trip home and say, “Au Revoir” not “Good-Bye”
