A four Day Getaway;

Quebec’s Eastern Townships is the jewel of the province. As you cycle through this region, take the time to explore a unique and subtle mix of Anglo Saxon and Quebecois charm, against a magnificent background of mountains, valleys and lakes.

This self-guided tour, follows the Eastern Townships bike trails from one charming Bed and Breakfast to another. Travel at your own pace, stopping along the way to enjoy the many sites and sounds that this region has to offer.

Day 1

Start your mini-vacation in Magog. Located at the northern end of Lake Memphremagog, this hamlet reflects its French and New England heritage in its architecture, arts and fine cuisine.

Upon your arrival you will enjoy a welcome reception where your tour hosts will review your trip and answer any questions you may have. End the day with a walk along the boardwalk and a gourmet meal in a restaurant over looking Lake Memphremagog.

Day 2 (35KM)

Wake up to a fabulous country breakfast followed by a tour of the local bakery to stock up on delicacies for your picnic lunch.

This first day of riding takes you through the Orford Provincial Park. Along the way, stop and take a hike on the many trails that criss-cross the Park. Enjoy your picnic lunch before continuing on your way to your second B&B.

Day 3 (44KM)

After breakfast, be prepared for a cycling adventure along the “Sentier de L’Ardoise”. This ride will bring you to Richmond. The many interesting sites to see in this community include the Antique Car Museum, the Slate Interpretation Centre and the Richmond Arts Centre. The historic centre of this small town contains no less than 36 heritage buildings.

Day 4 (58 KM)

After a well deserved rest, you are ready for the days ride along the St. Francois River to Sherbrooke Quebec and then on to North Hately for lunch. North Hately sits on the northern tip of Lake Massawippi and is a treasure trove of quaint shops, art galleries and restaurants. Throughout the summer, visitors and locals enjoy open air concerts every Sunday.

After lunch, hop back on the bike trails and head in the direction of Magog. Back at the beautiful B&B “Au Tout Venant” your tour hosts await you to hear all about your adventures and direct you to your dining options for this final evening.

The following morning, we wish you a “Bon Voyage” for your trip home and say, “Au Revoir” not “Good – Bye”!
